Look closely at the Meraki logo. Most people see a letter — a stylized “r.” But that's only the surface.

What you're really looking at is a piece of paper, mid-fold. Caught in the moment between flat and finished — between a blank page and a story.

We designed it that way on purpose. Every story, every comic, every picture book starts as nothing. A blank sheet. Then someone folds it, shapes it, gives it dimension. The first fold is always the hardest — the one where you stop thinking and start making. Our logo lives in that exact moment. Not the finished work. Not the empty page. The fold.

The ribbon curves upward because stories don't move in straight lines. They twist, double back, surprise you. The top curls outward like a page turning itself — like the story is too impatient to wait for you to catch up.

And then there's the colour.

The deep red at the base is where every story begins — in the gut, somewhere between courage and fear. It's the feeling right before you hit “create.” The colour lightens as it rises, warming into orange and coral at the top — the way a story transforms as it leaves your hands. What starts as something heavy and personal becomes something bright and shareable. The gradient isn't decoration. It's the journey from “I have an idea” to “here, read this.”

The folds cast shadows on each other. That's intentional too. Every story has layers — things the reader sees and things they feel. The shadows are the subtext, the parts that work on you without you noticing. A good comic panel has them. A good bedtime story has them. Even a kid's picture book about a dinosaur who can't find his mum — it has shadows.

We call it the “r” because it stands for a lot of things. Reader. Ribbon. Reimagine. But honestly, it started with one word: rewrite. The freedom to fold your story again, try a different shape, find the version that feels right. That's what Meraki gives you — not just tools to create, but permission to keep going until it's yours.
